I would be utterly made up, would show he's come here with something to prove as well, could easily get his wages matched at many CL clubs.

I have no doubt, he created a system to turn dcl into a master slotter, he can do almost anything here.

£7m transfer fee + £8m a year is £31m.

This would be my guess too, paying him £8m is only (and I use that term loosely) £150kpw, so still a considerable drop for him.

But in the same breathe, he instantly becomes top earner, and the price you have to match to get the next top player in. It can snowball fast, which is why we are probably taking our time and not just paying what they want off the bat.
