I make my evening contribution.. James has only one weak spot and that's what his strength with Everton is all about, his muscular endurance is not that of today's footballers who are equipped to run and sprint all the time. Not, James Rodriguez is a 10 classic only compared with Pele, Maradona or Zidane who always developed their game strategically and retaining the physical energies for decisive moments of the match. Only two experienced technicians like Carlo Ancelotti and Jupp Heynckes they knew how to discern and manage it properly. Forcing James as other technicians did to run like a madman on the pitch, is to take him to injury continuously as happened to him at Bayern's of Niko Kovac or Zidane's Real Madrid. I hope the toffees understand and support it for continue show their brilliant game, that many of our elders today yearn in the golden age of football where creativity and magic was preferred to today's battles where 22 athletes bet to see who runs the most. Enjoy the years left for one of the last of your kind... A real 10 who is convinced that football more than a sport is art and passion

Wonderful post. I had mentioned this before. James grew up in Colombia being developed as a 10 after the likes of Carlos Valderrama, Giovanni Hernandez, and others before him. He was not trained to run or high endurance. When he was placed in midfields and forced to run, he became more subject to little muscular injuries. It wasn't in game fouls or anything like that, it was muscular fatigue. He did run, he hustled, he defended, but he constantly missed game.

I think the current set up is working well. He will track back. He will defend. But he will not nor should he play like Richy who runs like a mad man. As a matter of fact, I wish Richy would ease up some times. Don't want him to wear down. We need him

It must be very motivating for Richarlison to know that his runs are not wasted as he knows a quality pass is on it's way. That would in turn make him run faster. With James, i think the Premier League moves so fast that it can't handle someone who stands still or moves slow & drifts about. It's like all the opposition players can't process what he's going to do as it doesn't conform to the norm. Kevin De Bruyne is the master of this but does sprint more than James but the fact I'm comparing the two says it all really & that's about as high a praise i can give.

Theres more legs in the team to let Rodriguezs work his magic.

I thought it was a parody because he actually uses the 'stoke on a wet Tuesday night in November' and Deeney is a 'proper bloke' so is it because James is skillful and not yard dog that means he's not a proper bloke or because he's a good looking lad and has a foreign accent,

Just makes me laugh that these jokes get paid for their opinion on football
Xenophobia goes hand in hand with sexism.

I’ve no doubt the club will have a private jet ready to fly him straight back after the final whistle. Saying that they kick off early hours of Thursday morning, i hope he doesn’t play otherwise you are right he’s hardly going to play 2 games in just over 2 and a half days.

He won’t even break a sweat In Colombia.
