Don't torture @DanEFC92 with such claims. He is recovering from the Covid shot and has not been feeling his best.I doubt they ever will
Seems an awful long way off doesn't it?nah don't say tha![]()
Seems an awful long way off doesn't it?
I can't go and give my brother a hug but we'll let 40,000 strangers shout next to each other for 2 hours?
Nah
I think we work well sometimes without the overlapping fullbacks. Iwobi seems much more confident when he knows that if he loses the ball Holgate hasn’t already run ahead of him. We just seem to keep our shape a load better. The defenders defend, the attackers attack and the likes of Doucoure Iwobi and Richarlison carry the ball between the two. When we play the overlapping fullbacks they seem to commit too much, centrebacks get dragged out, Doucoure ends up wide right a lot, Richarlison doesn’t seem to have enough space. I think Carlo likes the 4231 with a flat back 4
All very good points - I guess I'm being influenced by the modern full-back that overlaps. Not many elite teams out there that play with a flat defensive back four.
But, really who cares, if we have found a system that allows us to balance attack and defence, then I am all in!
I like him, but I think he gets caught in possession a lot, needs to adapt to the pace of the game over here !!I wrote "reminds me" not equal or superior to... Can't you see some of the similarities in vision and passing? Just need better players on the receiving end![]()
lollollolAnyone who says he doesn't do much is blind. He was all over the pitch tonight and pitching in defensively. When richy starts he doesn't need to do that so much. The guy unlocks defences like Saville unlocking doors in a hospital
Oh yes that cultured forward of a target man Alan Smith, who gets mistaken for the much younger former striker and defensive midfielder of the same name!Cracks me up hearing dross like Alan Smith telling us what he should be doing and what he's doing wrong.
Hilarious stuff
Privilege to watch this character at work.
Wonderful ability with the ball. Showing a welcome snappiness with defensive work.
And I want to have his children. (Bog off @maccavennie !)
