I’m sure James is willing to complete his training schedule unless he is injured. Moreover, Benitez should consider keeping him giving the lack of good midfield options that Everton has at the moment.
I'd definitely keep him. I think he's a great asset to have.

From what I know of Benitez, though, it seems highly unlikely that he'll be willing to tolerate a player whose body is beginning to fail him.

I think it's going to be very much back to basics under this manager.

Well not back to basics because that's what we've been doing for awhile now

I don't think there'll be much passing around or chopping and changing of personnel at the back, nor will he attempt the sort of formations that Ancelotti saw mixed results with (eg a diamond midfield).

I'm expecting either a fixed 4-2-3-1 or 5-2-3 more or less every time, with Calvert-Lewin being told to start working those channels again.

Well Benitez should be as concerned about his body as his big belly shows that his body seems to be failing him already and we the fans are going have to tolerate such view ;)

In regards to James in my opinion this year with the right preseason training and conditioning he may in a better fit condition than the previous years and I hope Rafael be smart enough to keep him and give him a chance to play for Everton again.
