I remember at the [Poor language removed] Benitez was trying to jettison Alonso for Gareth Barry. It didn't get done, so he used him and he played excellent all season.

Let's hope it shakes out the same with James.

The funny thing if that happened would be a few lads on here giving Benitez all the praise for it.

He's not even said anything for two weeks ffs!

He's been used as a makeweight in a deal that couldn't get agreed. So he remains our player for the last year (or the next months) of his deal.

So we should use him because he's very good

Not knowing who we play on Saturday could not be more disrespectful to your team mates. It is clear he cares about the salary full stop. I dont expect him to be Alan Ball but you do have a right to some basic level of interest. Of course we should use him if he stays on the payroll. I just hope he is gone.
