Said it in his thread that Southampton goal and it’s timing was massive for him , his career and our club. The manager had sent us out for the second half with clear instructions but we looked to be running out of ideas when the goal came and suddenly everything changed and we won the game relatively comfortably. Now we’re unbeaten and we’ve won 3 out of 4 , if that goal goal doesn’t go in everything changes and I think you’d see him and his acceptance being viewed very differently.

That’s not said to undermine the manager or downplay his decent start just how I think. It’d have been different.
Wtf?
If Hitler defended the Atlantic coast better he might have fended off the initial attack by the allies.

That's not said to undermine operation Overlord. It'd have been different.

Well if you’re quoting history you’ll realise it often changes in moments , thankfully for the manager and us as Evertonians we scored so my musing are irrelevant aren’t they ? You only have to look at major games in Everton’s history to see how things had huge impacts on the careers of managers like Kendall and the club as a whole and just how easily things could have turned out differently . I do stand by my point that it if we hadn’t won that game the managers honeymoon period may well have been very different.

That post was in reply to the poster who mentioned how quickly things can change and they can , hopefully we’ll win Monday and his good run can continue , I’ve said before he was appointed I hope he never loses a game and so far so good .

Please try to stay on topic mate, this is not the WW2 naval analysis thread ?
Missing the point there Spadge.
My Point: luck and coincidence are part of life, humankind and football. No point in talking too much about 'ifs and buts'. Let the results speak.

One could argue that the game against Huddersfield was one were we were pretty unlucky, with that red card Kean got. Yet we won...

Those are the margins in football.

Bacon and egg sandwich.

This thread has gone from my least favourite thread to my most favourite thread purely because of @Spadge Vernacular become the anti- @davek and consistently owning him. It's a joy to see, keep it up Spadge!

I saw Piers Morgan's tweets yesterday claiming he was somehow responsible for Emma Raducanu's win.

And it reminded me immensely of how Dave can never be wrong about anything.
