People have now got themselves into a position where they’re backing a player who has only been properly backed by one manager in the past five years. The same manager who binned us off and didn’t even bother trying to take James with him.

Clubs all round europe are is serious trouble with revenue losses due to Covid.
Some will take years to recover , only the very top cash rich clubs have escaped this.

I know Benitez hates him - I just can't believe that he would say James felt something and so couldn't/didn't want to play, if James hasn't done just that.

It would be stupidity of the highest order from Benitez not to pick James on the bench, if he was available, due to all the injuries we had today.
