I disagree; they would all be injured before half time if the rules of those 'archaic' times do apply.
They don’t though, because we don’t live in the past. We live in the now and the now dictates that all these old idols of yours would either be too unfit to pass a medical or would get sent off for pushing goalkeepers in to the goal.

Dixie Dean, the club legend, would not even start for a league one team in this day and age and that’s me being generous.

If people genuinely think modern footballers wouldn’t dance around the archaic idols you people keep mentioning then you really need to stop watching football. The game has moved on and these dinosaurs need leaving in the past.

I see it very similarly to the whole Brexit situation, people looking backwards not forwards. These people are holding the club back, pining for days and players of old and the new lot not fitting this bizarre ethos of the club. Get over it lads, it’s a whole different game now.
Sappie, the lad with the cat pic?

How you mate. Disagree. But how's it going besides?

Have you just invented that? How do you know he's not fuming that he has to let him go because James has got the wrong attitude and work-rate?

People just making stuff up to suit their own agenda is tiresome beyond belief.
Because it's been made quite clear that Benitez is perfectly happy to let him leave. Benitez himself has said "he has been available" and even went to pains to stress that the middle east windows were still open in his Burnley presser.

It's got nothing to do with making things up. Benitez doesn't see him as a key player (that is obvious - and absolutely fine btw). He's happy to let him leave because we need the wages off the books.

I don't see anything wrong with the above. I do see it being stupid of the club to be so desperate (and sad that we're in this state) when we can't bring anybody in.

You appear to be pining for one of our ex players mate. He's just another ex player from our past.
Let it go.

You don't know he's "happy" about it mate. The club could have said we need rid or the player has (as it looks like) downed tools anyway.
