So many names mentioned....so many of them just not good enough.
Keeper...It really depends on what RM truly thinks of Robles. If he thinks that he isn't good enough and never will be then we are looking for a first team signing as Howard is nearing the end of his premiership career. If he thinks Robles has a real future(as I do) then you are looking at an experienced backup for very little outlay as Howard will be available again in a few weeks.
We need a centrehalf. We have Jagielka and Stones, RM doesn't have faith in Browning as he plays everybody before him. Alcaraz is injured a lot and Distin should have left last summer. But...finding a quality centrehalf in January is not easy. But we do have numbers to get us through until the summer.
More than anything I think we lack creativity and imagination in midfield. A genuine no. 10
Barkley is far more effective playing from deeper, Naismith is industrious but not creative, Pienaar is constantly injured.
We could do with a real winger, but by tinkering with our formation we can give extra licence to Baines and Coleman to attack and that gives us as much pace and attacking threat as any team.
To do this we need McCarthy back from injury and Barry to improve or be dropped.
For me, if we are to sign a player it must be a creative midfielder. I really liked the link with Brozovic but unfortunately it's like so many others..just nonsense.
