I think you're a little bit lost on what a good signing is. Ferguson signed Veron and Forlan FOR MAN UTD. None of them played well or produced the goods FOR MAN UTD. Ergo, not good signings. If Ferguson had signed Forlan for Villareal and he had gone on to have the success for them like he did, then fair enough, good signing. And to say Veron was a good signing for Man Utd (32 mil in the early 2000s is extortionate), because he was seen as a good player around the globe and did well when he left shows how flawed your argument truly is.

Being a smart arse again, still not impressed mate.

YOu said cleverley was a bad player as in signing for us. Yet forlan and veron who had great careers outside of united were bad players in your logic.

Or the first choice panath/olympy keeper carroll was a bad goal keeper. Or a squad player wasnt world class and winning them the league by himself.

So how is my argument flawed? Forlan was a great player as was veron and tosic was last i heard. They didnt work out but it doesnt make them bad players though does it?

Last time i checked there were loads on here wanting kagawa in the summer (perhaps even yourself?), but he must be a terrible player by your logic because he didnt adapt to united. Lets disregard him being one of the best players in germany initially, because he is a terrible player.

Not at any point am i talking about how successful uniteds transfer record was, i am talking about how good a player was for ferguson to rate him, including ones you mentioned.

So ferguson rated ronaldo forlan amongst others yet it is so far fetched that cleverly would be a good signing for us why? Because you say so? Or because he had one bad season under a new manager?

Oh and btw, Tosic is far from a ''great'' player he can't get in CSKA Moscow's team, and he was even worse at Man Utd therefore he was not a...good signing by Ferguson.

People claiming Lennon to be in any way a good signing... What does he offer that McGeady doesn't?? McGeady is twice the player Lennon has ever been and ever will be.

Wasn't insulting, but if you explained something to someone in the most basic way possible 3-4 times and then they come out with ''you tried to prove me wrong and failed'' you'd get frustrated. Within GOT like. Not life.

Lennon was first choice for spurs when they finished in the top 4. Mcgeady isn't as bad as some make out but he does give the ball away a lot!

lol heed what others have said about the tone of your posts mate. unless you are the high almighty and everything you say is correct so therefore everyone else is wrong. 'Lets go people, GOT is finished, FTY is the only person who's opinion is right'.

If you had botherd to read my last post instead of looking for a reason to sound like a tit again then i have been basing everything i have said on the basis of cleverly being a good player and someone who could do well for us, not how good he was for united. but i did say Ferguson thought he was good enough for a 90 odd point league winning team very recently so therefore there is a chance he could well be a good player for us.

throwing players at me and calling me stupid because they didnt be that succesful at united is really a non argument to everyone to yourself it seems. they were clearly good players even if they regressed over time or shone elsewhere.

But one more time, so you can read it i will put it in caps, GOOD PLAYER not GOOD SIGNING.

He was brilliant before Man U, so dunno about this "went on to be". It's also debatable that he was a bad judgement by Fergie, and whether he was as bad at Man U as is generally thought. I've seen a lot of retrospective articles on that.

I always thought Veron was good, my point was based on the general opinion he werent as good as he should of been, regarded as a flop by some. I think the point made originally was that fergie signed some crap or paid more than he should, i think a person should be judged on his career and not one club.

Shevchenko and Torres must of been crap because they flopped at Chelsea.
