Howard's still a decent keeper, despite having an awful season. I doubt he'd want to hang around and sit on the bench.

You would think Marshall would be a direct replacement long term for Howard. You don't pay that money for a bench sitter at Everton

Yeah, that's what I mean. If we buy him he'll be starting, so it would almost certainly mean that Howard would be off in the summer.

I think my reservations are that it is getting a bit tedious constantly picking up relegated players. Without having seen much of Marshall, I would want Roberto's recruiting to be more extensive.

The MLS season starts in March, you'd think that teams over there would want him (Howard) at the end of Jan to do preseason?
