Essentially it doesn't necessarily mean that said player is joining anyone.
correct. A story has enough momentum from somewhere that the bookies don't want to expose themselves. The story doesn't have to be true, usually it's because they've spotted a trend in the betting, could be a number of people in the Cardiff area have put biggish sums money on it so the Bookies are guessing they are acting on insider info. Again it doesn't have to be true.

so in other words, he created a couple of chances, he didn't rip them apart. i saw the same 10 min MOTD package as you did. it's his first good game, he can't even get into a gash newcastle team, would be a right waste of money - you can't buy a player based on 1 game

Totally agree you can't buy a player after 1 game but I can see he has ability & he's at a good age of 24.

Goalie apart, we won't be buying anyone. We've given up strong chances of CL qualification by not buying in the January window in the past. This time round the prize on offer is even bigger -- securing PL football for next season. But still you can bet your bottom dollar that we won't spend a light. Disgraceful. Another dereliction of duty by those running our club. And if we do go down those bastards will still be sat on their fat arses round the Board table.

Can't believe this discussion about suspended betting is still going on.

We aren't going to get relegated, and there's no chance of CL football through top 4.

The aim has to be Europa League and FA Cup runs for both money and securing Europe for next season - which means we realistically could use one decent signing in the window to try and make it happen

will you leave this forum if we
a) buy someone in january AND
b) avoid relegation?

Straight up question: If money was no object which one PL player would fit the bill to play in Royal Blue? Perhaps confine your answer to the one area on the pitch where we need a massive upgrade.
