Not sure Lukaku can be classed as a good signing at that fee. In time maybe, but so far, if I'd of described his season to you in August, I'd be seen as being a pessimist
I assume the transfer fee is related to his long term value, not his value over 22 matches. Also, while he's been poor at times I don't place his form this season on his shoulders, but on Martinez's.

Look at it this way, if we're paying 8 or so mil a year over a few years like reported, if he slots around 15 a season by the time we've paid the full amount we will have had at least 60 goals from him.

Still a huge outlay, my initial thought when the fee broke just after the press conference that he had signed was 'that's a lot of money' I don't blame Lukaku for the fee, I blame Martinez, but looking at other 30ish million pound players (who we wouldn't of attracted, although the fee was similar) Not sure Lukaku's stats can justify him as being in the posters bracket of 'good' transfer business, certainly not in the MaCarthy class.
Agreed, I blame this whole sorry affair on Martinez. Not just the transfers, but being 3 points of the relegation zone in the middle of Jan and out of both domestic cups.

£2m?!?! Can't be right that surely. He had a £12m release clause, I know his deal is running out but I bet they'd want around £5m for him I reckon.
I'd love us to be seriously interested in him, I think he's a decent player.
As anyone seen the Guardian article with quotes from Martinez about Mirallas? Basically he says we have to show Mirallas our ambitions, starting with going on a run from now until the end of the season, but I also think he means with our recruitment come the summer to show we are serious about going for the CL so hopefully, he's got some great ideas up his sleeve when it comes to recruitment in the summer!
That's a stat pulled right from the top hat and just for that I shall nod and lower my cap and say "fair play, some rep is on its way".
