...it’s a very interesting point and one that others are making. I’m not particularly disagreeing, but is the view that all incomings are dependent on outgoings or that the funding available was spent on Tosun?

I’m of a view that a specific amount is available to spend, plus any monies from sales.

I agree, if anything the biggest thing about outgoings will be cutting the wages to pay for incomings - more than needing the money for the fee, and to create space in a bloated already squad

But again though, the caps are his achievements and well done him, but of little net benefit to Everton. His performances are subjective, some will say good, some will say bad.

What has, definably, Baines accomplished at Everton for the benefit of the club?

Lukaku, you could argue, played well enough to realise a massive profit on his purchase cost. It's a fact that the club profited on his transfer.

Baines has essentially been take, take, take, with a few highlights in return, but nothing tangible.

Baines is in his tenth year with the club.

With player loyalty at a minimun these days, he has probably saved us £30M in transfer fees during that time.

£30M ,which the club has invested in bringing through talent such as John Stones, sold to Man City for 47.5M and Ross Barkley, sold to Chelsea for £15M.

The money gained from those transfers has aided us to invest in the purchases of Lukaku and more recently Cenk Tosun.

Again, subjective, not objective.

The massively large one, said so much in a recent presser, essentially he has a large squad and probably wont bring people in without moving people out the squad.

People be moving...

Which other premier league club has done a multi-transfer deal so far this window?

I'm not saying we don't need to be getting one in soon. We definitely do.

But... As far as I'm aware there's five clubs that have done business in the league so far.

Liverpool - VVD, £75m
Everton - Tosun, £25m
Chelsea - Barkley, £15m
H'field - Kongolo, loan
Arsenal - some kid has signed for them

Maybe clubs are not as desperate to fill two positions as we are?

However - Football is a team sport that involves entertainment. So had he entertained the fans - I think the answer is yes... doesn't he still hold the record for most assists by a fullback in a season? then there's the free kicks and the penno's - scored a lot of goals for us from the LB position. Finally I might add that if I extend your somewhat spurious argument then no player has done anything for Everton since 1995 if winning something is the only measaure of service to the club.

Correct.

By Orly's argument Paul Ridout would be Evertons most successful player over the last 24 years.

Another unknown plucked from the teams around Europe, my god Walsh is good at his job I bet Leicester are made up they didn't lose him.....

... meanwhile EFC bid £40m for Mawson while our Steve Walsh is in Turkey still sunning his baldy nugget(s)....

dunno even if this fella is good tbh, but they do have a knack for these players
