January Transfer Thread 2017

Seen a few not Rooney posts...

Can anyone tell me why it can't be? Fee too much, Wages too high?

United won't sell to their biggest threat of taking them out of the European spot?
Wouldn't want to come home?

Number of reasons

1) Rooney isn't first choice, but he's played a lot of games this season and it would be unusual for United to sell him in January
2) Rooney is on loads of money, more than double our top earner and it would be highly unlikely that he would take a huge pay cut to come back, especially when there is the potential he could move to China and become the highest paid player in the world
3) He's 32 this year, paying £20m for him would be a huge outlay for a player who is declining
4) He would lose money from his endorsements by moving here

A player like Rooney who is so high profile and has so many financial considerations is a massive, massive undertaking as far as signing him goes - the deal can take weeks to work on because of all the people involved. Rooney, agents, United, Everton, Nike, other 3rd party sponsors etc etc etc

No chance I see him moving here at that sort of short notice (I don't see him moving here at all TBH)

Seems a difficult window but we have like 36 hours to get someone in. If - according to WRD - it's a "try for Keane, if not Manolas" I don't see how we have enough time left to do any of it.

Gut instinct, we know what Roma want for the player and we know what the player wants and that it is a doable deal relatively quickly - but we'd prefer Keane in this window out the two so are taking a las5t chance to try get keane before the window shuts.

Seen rumours that manolas theyve been keen to sell for a whilst after he had a huge training ground bust up with Strootman (there vice captain)

we have already put out 'feelers'.

This will just be a last-minute move.

If it comes off, great.

If not, we'll be fine.

Other clubs play their part as well. It isn't just us.

We may have received an offer for Jagielka, for example, over the weekend, so we're now focusing on a CB so we can let the boy Nikodem leave.
