Possibly. We just had Ryan Taylor leave, who copped a lot of abuse for having ginger hair, so if Kone still has a rare hairdo then he could be a like for like replacement.

IIRC Kone has high wages, the problem seems to be no one will pay that for him so it's a bit of a stalemate. Still reckon he will go though.

We would blink first I think mate. Just because he's out of contract soon and it's much better to subsidise wages and release then him to mess around in the gym offering nothing.

Evening all. Oxford fan here, which you may have guessed from my username of Oxford.

I was just wondering if any of you have heard any rumours of one of yours coming our way? (Probably not Kone)

We seem to have a habit of picking up players from you.
Cambridge ? Is this the university challenge ?

I am not going to say it has been the best window, but if some one had said at the start we would get rid of quite a bit of dead wood, add a promising striker and a good midfielder and see the emergence of some young talent already on the books let's be honest you would have taken it.

Anything on top of that in terms of ready or emerging talent tomorrow will be a bonus for me.

Not fit to lace Lundstram's boots, that one.

Just looked on your forum and saw Ledson was doing really well. Pleased as he didn't really kick on from 16-18 but could be great as an all action midfielder.

What position are you weak in? If you are after a wide player it might be Dowell. Rolls royce of a player when on form.

All things considered, I'd obviously like some signings tomorrow because it's exciting, but think back to the end of last season with the 'Martinez out' banner flying across the sky. If someone had said on Feb 1st you'll have;
Binned Roberto
Signed Koeman
Signed Walsh
Signed Morgan
Signed Gana (whom is proving to be one of the best in the league in his position)
Binned off Gibson
Binned off Oviedo
Binned off Cleverly
Binned off Niasse
Binned off Del
Binned off Kone (possibly)
Perfect league record to 2017 inc 4-0 city smashing

Regardless of what happens tomorrow, can anyone honestly say they would have thought twice about accepting that with a huge grin?

I said yesterday, Rom is important, but only 3 of the last 13 goals are his. He's important, but he's not all we are.

Edit: not to mention Davies blossoming and Lookman scoring on his debut... things are looking up for the Toffees

Moshiri has certainly got us going in the right direction and doing the right things to build for success long term since he's come in.

We are still waiting for that marquee signing though, and as unlikely as it looks at the moment, getting a big name in before the window closed would give the squad a huge boost as well as boosting our exposure globally and might make it easier to bring in better players in the summer. Fingers crossed we can get something done.

Ledson looks like a real good player. He's stepped up to men's football well and has a very good future. Lundstram too has been a massive player for us since he signed. Both have the potential to go beyond League 1.

A striker or wide player wouldn't go amiss, I've heard a rumour we're in for one of yours but don't know any names although Conor McAleny would fit the bill for the sort of player we'd go for.

Can't help you mate but as you are in Oxford can you thank Kevin Brock for his back pass that let Adrian Heath in to kick off our glory years in the 80's ;)

Binned off McGeady, Hibbert, osman, Pienar, Howard
Signed Lookman, Bolassie

You put it far better than myself.

Without getting to carried away in half a season we have changed the squad, some have emerged other have veen acquired but our acquisitions are looking more assured than what we have been used to in the past.

Think Kone has to think of his career more, he signs for someone now and gets a 2 year contract but has to take a pay cut, or when his contract is up in the summer we just get shut off him and he has to scrape around hoping for a new club. If it was me I would rather have the assurance of a new contract now with a new club, because in the summer there might not be any takers, and if there is someone willing to sign him up they will probably offer him crap wages anyway.
