I reckon there's a 1.3% chance of us getting Mertens. I'd be shocked if we get in a real top top player for big money. I'm still expecting another 3-4 signings but not expecting any of them to be 30m+ signings.

Every defender makes mistakes, the top class defenders just make fewer mistakes than others. I'd rather base my opinion on VVD on a Celtic fan of mine (told me he should be in for him when he left Celtic) and the times I've watched him for Southampton. The game last night just reinforced the class the lad has.
