January Transfer Thread 2020

.....a bit busier this morning than in recent days, here’s the Toffee transfer gossip for Tuesday 14th January;

- Everton has confirmed the signing of Jarrad Branthwaite from Carlisle on a 2 1/2 year contract. The 17 year old will join David Unsworth’s U23 squad. Carlisle say the centre-back is leaving for a substantial fee with bonuses and performance related clauses.

- Brazilian outlet, Lance, report Santos are willing to sell Lucas Verissimo for as little as £8.5m with Everton hoping to land the centre-back this month. UOL say Santos rejected a loan bid from Everton for the 25 year old last week.

- According to Sky Sports, Everton are interested in 24 year old Bournemouth centre back, Nathan Ake but are behind Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City in the queue to land the Dutch international.

- Alicante Plaza report Everton are one of the clubs tracking Elche central midfielder, Gonzalo Villar. AS Roma are believed to have submitted a €3m bid, but the players previous club Valencia will take 80% of any transfer fee for the 21 year old.

- Corriero Dello Sport say Everton has made an ‘important offer’ to Inter Milan for midfielder, Matias Vecino. Inter aren’t completely against selling the 28 year old Uruguayan but would prefer to use him in a swap deal for Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.

- The Athletic suggest Everton are tracking RB Leipzig forward Hwang Hee-Chan but are not planning to bid this month. Wolves are, however, preparing a £27m move for the South Korean.

- Sky Sports regurgitate rumours linking the Toffees with midfielders, Yannick Carrasco of Dalian Yifang and Adrien Rabiot of Juventus, whilst also reporting Carlo Ancelotti is not looking for a Jordan Pickford replacement.
Too short; you see what happened when we signed Pickford...

Will this be the last window work permits aren't needed for European players?

Brexit kicks in end of the month but not sure if all stays the same until December meaning it could be the summer being the last one.
Good question. What will happen?!

....never heard him specify U23s and most of the names have been continually linked for a while. Saying that, any future signings might well be players who haven’t been mentioned as yet.
It was implied Mr Eggs.

Carlo is a genius (did you see we won on Saturday despite playing and making Gylfi captain) so he doesn't need to say "not applicable to U23's"; it's implied...;)
