FFP is our issue. We can't just keep spending beyond our means within the rules of the PL and FIFA. So any transfers from now on will have to be a lot more careful.Er,yes massively, ran out of money means we’re back in the Kenwright 5m transfer budget days
When people post pics mate they should put the name as well because I ain't got a clue who half of these players are unless a name is attached.
Robbie Williams?
I always thought FFP was the biggest joke in terms of how it limits clubs from moving up the ladder even if they want to. If they really wanted it to be equal they should just limit net spend across the board. As you say though, it’s designed to maintain the status quo.Football is all rigged to make sure the elite teams stay at the top.
Bigger teams get larger cuts of champions league revenue regardless of their performance.
Drop out of the champions league and you get put in the Europa League. Being rewarded for failure and making a mockery of the whole idea of the Europa League, which was to give teams, just under elite level a shot at winning a trophy.
FFP just stops smaller teams having rich billionaires pump money in to them to compete with established teams like Blackburn did decades ago.
UEFA just want the elite teams to dominate. They have the most fans and bring the largest returns when their teams do well.
The elite teams threatened to form a breakaway league when UEFA didn't do what they want.
Fans of all other teams should have been protesting when UEFA brought in the rules to let teams drop in to the Europa League when they fail in the Champions League.
Wouldn't suprise me if and when Usmanov tries injecting money in to the club through naming rights or a sponsorship deal that we get made an example of, while they let Man City get away with it.
All about money unfortunately.
.....it’s Saturday, no school today so here’s the Toffee transfer round-up for 18th January;
- Football Insider claims Marcel Brands has agreed 2 loans with Championship clubs for Oumar Niasse but the striker doesn’t want to drop down a level. Reporter Wayne Veysey says the Senegal international has been offered to Leeds United.
- The Star quote Marco Ancelotti as saying “money is no problem at Everton” if the club want to spend big on transfers this month.
- The Daily Record reports Everton have been watching Dundee United’s prolific goalscorer, Lawrence Shankland, but face stiff competition for his signature. The Toffees might have to wait until summer to get the 24 year old with United looking to gain promotion back to the Scottish top flight.
- The confusion surrounding Matias Vecino continues, with La Repubblica saying the Inter Milan midfielder has rejected a move to Everton, whilst Tuttosport say the Toffees are now in pole position to sign the 28 year old. £17m is believed to be enough to get the Uruguayan.
- The Liverpool Echo continue to link Everton with 20 year old Verona centre-back, Marash Kumballa, although Inter are leading the race to complete a €20m deal.
- Pucela Fichajes report Real Valladolid’s Sporting Director, Miguel Angel Gomez, saying Mohammed Salisu could leave his club this month. The 20 year old Ghanaian centre-back was linked with a move to Everton in November.
- According to Tuttosport, Everton linked St Etienne defender Wesley Fofana is AC Milan’s no1 target.
- According to Austrian outlet, Salzburger Nachricten, Red Bull Salzburg forward Hwang Hee-Chan will not be sold to Everton or other suitors for less than €40m.
- Athletic reporter, Greg O’Keefe, claims Everton are opening new contract talks with defender, Mason Holgate, despite the 23 year old still having 2 1/2 years left on his current deal.
