No I think hes got his eye on the real prize which is the summer.

To Ancelotti, the season is over, he cant get CL, he cant win a trophy, that doesnt mean he wont put everything in to getting Europa, but I still maintain this squad is good enough to finish 7th. Would have liked something extra, but its a difficult window and we have some spending restrictions.

I agree, they have written it off, what if the supporters had the same attitude? We will just come back in July........

They’re the equivalents of the Suarez etc signings you mentioned, which is why I used them. That’s the other aspect of it, there are loads of examples of just decent signings in January, people who have come in and done a good job for their new club. But people don’t count them because they’re not exciting, then don’t count the exciting ones because they wouldn’t come to us, then claim it’s proof that you can’t do business in January.

I bet Ancelotti is sat at home thinking WTF am I doing here, probably the worst squad he has ever had.... and we get to see Schneiderlin, Davies, Delph, Sigurdsson trot around the centre of midfield with no clue as to what is going on for the rest of the season.

Or alternatively he has said not to sign anyone as the players he wants aren't available and he is happy to wait till the summer not massively overspend or sign people for the sake of it.
