A promising striker and saha given away. One in one out, doesn't change anything.
The problem with the team has been creativity: saha has been an easy scapegoat for a midfield, formation and coaching set-up that stifles creativity and open play. Selling Pienaar and Arteta and not always having a fit Leon Osman hasn't helped either. We're hoping for a set piece or a penalty every match. Otherwise it's always a struggle for goals and people blame the poor [Poor language removed] leading the line that he isn't getting 30 goals a season.
With our current transfer dealings (Donovan aside and he's only on a loan) I can't see we are attempting to do anything about the desperate deficit of creative talent in our squad.
Barkely should walk into the team for this reason alone.
