Mad when you think about it but Kudos and Cody Gakpo both could have been bought in the early summer. Would probably have cost about £60 million for the two but you’d easily make that back in 2 years on just one of them.

Having them on either side and a decent forward up to and you’d be in business.

Why have them two when you can get McNeil and Maupay for £35 mil, this is what Everton do

People are getting far too excited with some of those younger players doing well in the world cup. World cup is a unique competition where players you never heard off can do fantastic and serve only one purpose to inflate their values just in time for January. Besic is the perfect example for us...let's look at players that have done well in their respective leagues in the last 18 months rather than signing one time wonders.

I agree our recruitment is either poor or unimaginative, Onana is the one bright spot. But thanks to our board and wastefulness in years gone by we also didn't have the budget to complete deals for the likes of Kudus or Gakpo and now why if you are any of the players mentioned would you join a 17th placed team? We need to be shrewd and unearth talent we can secure that's on the up and that won't be out of our budget, tough but with good scouting you can do it.
