There’s a bit of truth in this as any sane player will see how toxic the club is in general and think twice especially with our position in the league.

On the flip side, those donuts in the media team along with Sharp as a mouthpiece for the board quoting that players are swerving us due to the situation following the Southampton game has not exactly helped matters either.

To preserve their status on the board, they threw the entire fan base and club under the bus therefore damaging the reputation and attraction of the club in the most public way via national media without acknowledging that they should have either had deals lined up coming into December or just tell the truth that we are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Don’t get your hopes up, it will be “we tried but it’s always a hard market in January” come midnight tomorrow and the great con will carry on.

People would be moaning if we'd signed Frank's players and then sacked him. Thelwell didn't know whether it was going to be Dyche or Bielsa until Friday so they were looking at transfers over the weekend and obviously needed the Gordon money. Even if we'd sacked Frank earlier and got a manager in at the start of the month then we would have still had to sell Gordon or someone before we could spend anything.

The director of football should be facilitating all aspects of the club. This is his job. Should have seen things weren't working the week of the 2 defeats to Bournemouth. Should have known we had a player who had downed tools that we could fetch a tidy sum for. We should have appointed a new manager in the world cup break, had Gordon off to Newcastle Jan 1st and used some of it in the first few weeks. Instead there's no control and he has 2 days to sort everything out. All while plummeting from being pretty likely to go down to nailed on favourites while we dithered.
