Expecting a striker in ready for our first game in January.

Obviously this will not happen and we'll spend the month trying to save 500k on our top target, leave it too late, miss out on him, have no real second target and end up with Neil Maupay 2.

Mina, Keane, Davies, Doucouré, Rondon.

We desperately need at least two attacking players right away in January and I doubt we have money for both, maybe not even one.

We simply have to sell as many fringe players as possible as we're in a terrible position now.

Even if we end up with less in reserve, having a better striker in the squad is more important than having Tom Davies and kin Doucouré as options off the bench.

Mina and Doucouré will be out of contract in the summer, but maybe we could get £3m-£5m a piece. £7-10m for Keane, Rondon released to save £60k a week, and another £5m for Davies - that's money for a fine striker from abroad and the wages saved would be worth millions as well.

Obviously none of this will happen though and we'll probably sign yet another crap winger that offers us nothing at all, and get relegated, then sign Brereton Diaz in the summer for £20m once we've had our least terrible players poached off us on the cheap, probably that £20m will be from Pickford's £22m sale to Spurs.

….a couple of rumours in this mornings. The media outlet we don’t mention suggests Spurs are considering a move for Anthony Gordon & this might be our first striker link;

Frank has turned out to be so-so at signing talent i.e. Dwight, Maupay, Deli
and bad at selling over-valued players i.e. Gordon.

Can we turn to ask Pep to write down for his tips for us? After all City and EFC
operate in different leagues.

We have a director of football mate, I feel like you needed to hear this.

Just a thought, but, would it not make sense to take up our option on Coady at the reported 4.5 million and free up a domestic loan spot to allow us the chance of getting a better class of striker in short term? Surely our options would be better in the loan market that looking for a permanent signing for the amount of money we are likely to have available.

There have been several instances of this approach being advocated on some of the more pro-club social media sites. I suspect we'll see exactly this happening. And if there's no affordable alternative out there to buy outright then a loan would be the best solution.

If we do make Coady permanent though, we absolutely HAVE to sell Keane. We can't revert to the previous irresponsible financial model of keeping £25m players on the bench for years, running their contracts down whilst paying them £70k per week.
