January Transfer Window 2023

Apart from the crappy jokes there are no hard links in this thread to strikers who will add to our attacking options.

That’s the depressing thing as we’ve know for 6 months we need to sign attacking players.

Sums up the board completely

Hopefully they will surprise me with a couple of decent forward players

It's the board, I don't think Dyche expected how much of a mess Everton are behind the scenes when taking the job.
Listening to various interviews and podcasts he dealt with similar stuff at Burnley , his mantra appeared to be as long as he knew the score he’s happy . Of course that would mean the likes of Kenwright being truthful so yeah maybe you’re right

Joking aside It’s incredible how this appears to have shocked them , genuinely infuriating

…..Everton media statement;

’In respect of this transfer window, the club transferred Anthony Gordon. The best talent we had produced in a decade informed us he feared for his safety after recent events, so we reluctantly agreed a deal with Newcastle. We tried relentlessly to bring a number of exciting players into the club but in every case they informed us they would pursue other options to protect the welfare of their families.’

Loving the "look at the Dyche effect" comments, as though we've been prolific until his arrival.
Obviously we've always been shocking at bringing in players particularly in January but you have to admit it's never been like this.

Being turned down by players from Ligue 1 and Serie A and being gazumped repeatedly by Bournemouth and Southampton is 100% a new low.

Ofc it is also to do with our league position and the recent media circus but Dyche also absolutely plays a part imo. We're already a hard sell as it is and he's a name that I think most players are more likely to say no to than a manager they've never even heard of. He has a very particular reputation and it doesn't bode well for us.

Fwiw I think Dyche is a way better manager than Lampard, but as an example Lampard seemed to have significant pull in landing us players, despite his dubious managerial ability.
