Exactly.

Iwobi is actually one of our better players. Why spend £30m or £40m on Maddison, who can only be accommodated in his preferred position / role by benching Iwobi? That doesn't cure the issues out wide, does it.

Plus spending the amount necessary to secure Maddison would almost certainly exhaust our entire budget. Shall we go back to having to sell because we're in breach of financial rules?

They both play as 8's anyway, we just need the right 6 with them.

Yes agreed we need some better width options also, and striker.

I know its un-realistic, but Maddison is the type of player we have all wanted for years and years.

I am always a glass half full when it comes to Everton, and obviously been smacked down as a result, but I am strangely ok with all bar the results – save the eggs I know that is the name of the game. To change that I think we should put all our cash into a top #9 and the wide positions will improve as a result. Rondon doesn't want to leave and to be fair he has done nothing wrong integrity wise took a pay cut to come here. Maupay just isn't working and I swear he has springs on his boots because his first touch has been very average. DCL is great but fitness is an issue. Hope to get Rondon gone in Jan, but I am realistic in that Maupay is going nowhere so just hope we can find a top #9 loan or buy in a tough Jan market.

I'm not really worried about us signing anybody new this upcoming window. Prices are inflated in January and we are on track for where we wanted to be for the season so far.

Unless it's a genuine coup or a savvy loan I'm happy with the squad we have and can look to have a strong summer transfer window to help us push on.

We need some goals/creativity in the team, if we don't we will right down there imo, you really think Maupay is going to score us the goals needed to stay up mate?

Mohammed Kudus please. Ta.
That ship will have most likely sailed sadly. He was one of the best performing players in the Champions League group phase for a team who were no great shakes. He'll have much better teams than Everton in for him now.

Regardless, Iwobi's general performance levels have offset the disappointment of not bringing Kudus in. We need a striker and winger badly.

I agree on permanent signings mate. Id be using all out loans though trying to get goals into the team.
