The Gordon money has been banked on the stadium and our finances if we go down. But it's a huge gamble we have scored 15 goals we could easily go down. The idea we couldn't afford a loan or two is rubbish. It's sheer incompetence leaving the failing manager in situ too long and not recruiting earlier.

Not a shock. The money per team is higher. The lost revenue in relegation is probably way more than any other league so the bottom group has incentive to spend aggressively to try to stay up. (excluding Everton apparently.) And the top of the table is far deeper than most leagues. Bayern Munich has finished first 10 straight years. So spending at the top can actually make a difference for more teams in the Premier League.

Strikes me Moshiri thinks we could very well go not to use any of that Gordon money. Is it to cover his arse if we go down/to keep the stadium build going. Seems insane not to even loan one player. Seems to be a combination of incompetence, lack of funds and poor recruitment.
