January Transfer Window 2023

I'm losing count of the amount of players that we just dont quite offer enough for and then they become twice the price following outstanding displays. It's like theyre almost in the bag but we just cant resist haggling for a bargain buy and it backfires on repeat.
Guess that's being skint!
We shot ourselves in the foot with our ridiculous spending on averageness or players at the end of their careers we are now paying the price. We haven't actually spent much net in the last two years but now it's critical we bring in two or three key players with our budget and track record with recruitment as a club it doesn't fill you with confidence that will get it right but our entire future could hinge on it!

Has Alan Myers tweeted anything yet? Can’t wait for him to say we aren’t signing kudus for kudus to be doing keepy upies infront of finch farm with kopite kev and Frank saying we’ve won the transfer window.

Yep totally get all that, what I said was you cannot judge him yet as he hasn’t had the minutes for us to see what he can do?

Plus Neville was a good captain, average left back and terrible in midfield

He hasn’t been permacrocked throughout. There’s been periods where he has been a reserve in this ultra crap Everton side. I disagree about Neville being crap in midfield. I thought he was highly effective alongside the likes of Arteta and Fellaini. I think he’d walk into our current side and be our best midfielder. Same goes for Osman etc.

I can get that some people have certain reservations about buying from the Championship given our situation, but it's because of that situation we limited to such a market. People suggesting all these wild foreign names need to give their heads a serious wobble as it's unlikely we will be able to structure the deal to meet our needs. The way I see Gyokeres is that I have watched him a number of times and he is the closest thing we are going to get to Dom, he can hold the ball up and he can make a chance for himself, he is decent on the ball and knows where the back of the net is (although he probably should score more than he does) Id take note that Brentford are interested in him as a replacement for Toney and they have a far, far better record and eye for recruitment than we do.
Not saying hes a bad player mate, but he did have a fair few of those Niasse running the ball clumsily into the net-type goals, coming from bad defending and willingness to run, in the one(yes, singular, i know nothing about him really) youtube video i watched. He might still be decent or good, i have never seen him play a full game of football. If you have, Im certain youre better equipped to judge him. :)

You say that but 2017/18 Niasse is the best forward on our team if we had him right now
