I think he has the attributes to suit a three in midfield.

Sure, with the right players alongside him. We saw that at palace last season.
Our midfield isn't built to support the kind of player that doesn't receive or make passes, spending most of the game dragging players out of position and occasionally arriving late to score.
Our midfield isn't built for anything really, but it's certainly not built for that.
He would be a disastrous acquisition for us this season.

I've only seen him a few times but just seems to run around loads but not doing much.

He's good in a fairly specific role which Palace used him in well and which Chelsea don't nor would we do similarly.
