I mean there are a million other explanations.

We are bidding for players, but nobody wants to join us.
That’s it really, isn’t it?

We’ve been guilty of trying to overreach in the market ever since Moshiri came in, meaning deals went down to the wire as we tried to score difficult-to-land targets.

The problem now is that ‘overreaching’ means we’re going for players that Brentford or Palace want, rather than players Arsenal or Tottenham want.

Desperate times.

Another issue we have is our owner and board still meddles it's been mentioned before but Thelwell and Brands before him can scout set deals up but they need clearance from the owner/board. It's probably why we end up with players who play in this league or have done because they haven't a clue

Its a fair point, but they also arent talking about any serious investment either.

Newcastles takeover aside most buyouts happen pretty quick/under the rader.

None of us heard of Moshiri's interest.

I just dont see a world where a man like Moshers accepts 3 wins in 19 and rolling over to accept relegation whilst a new stadium being built.

Its just not his MO based on his time as owner - imo we're either potless or he's on the verge of selling the club/a stake and isnt willing to pony up millions if he doesn't need to.

Stinks of cost cutting doesn't it like the taps have been turned off. Reminds me of a toxic combination of reckless spending in year's gone by like QPR and how Leeds sank like a stone when they had to sell any quality

imo we're either potless
This seems the most likely.

As I keep saying, Mosh is "spending" his money on the Stadium, he cant "afford" to prop us with transfers also, like he has been doing.

I know people will say Relegation costs more, but the man really doesnt have an umlimited wallet, hes invested huge sums into this club and still is regards the Stadium. Sure, with a sale he should get some money back. But I always said, when he turned the taps off, we are beyond screwed. It was all fun and games when it wasnt his money, but now it is.
