Ziyech has always looked massively overrated to me.

Of course better then relegation level but not saying much.

Ziyech is a good player, but he hasn't done much since he came to the PL. His numbers are poor, especially considering he was playing for Chelsea.

He has had injury problems and doesn't work that hard from what I have seen at Chelsea. But he has vision and skill and the Chelsea fans (despite their abundance of riches) don't seem to want him to go. So ?

Transfers really shouldn't be happening if the manager is about to be sacked.

You are then left with giving a new guy players he may not utilise.

Well other clubs get them. He's young, been capped at all levels, including by the full national team recently, looking at his Transfermarkt profile, so it is a possibility.

I think I remember reading that it is easier now to get work permits for young players from South Amercia, but much harder for European players now. A political choice from our government, no doubt.

He doesn't even come close to the required points based on the criteria: https://worldfootballindex.com/2020...e-post-brexit-english-clubs-efl-libertadores/

It's easier for good South American clubs as their continental competition is valued as highly as Champions League. His team in Chile finished 14th last season (he averages only 43mins per appearance), played just 7mins for senior national team and hasn't played in any continental competition. He'd be miles off it, not that I believe that we'd pay that anyway given the current predicament.

I really like how direct Ziyech is, I watched him yesterday, always looking to cross or shoot... ALTHOUGH... Dwight McNeil played a similar style last season for Burnley. Ultimately it's down to how they're managed and instructed, and its clear Lampard isn't getting the best of any player currently

Its a strange one...

How did Arsenal get Martinelli from Brazils 2nd division? European heritage?

Well, I was only talking generally about young South American players, as I said I know nothing about the lad, nor the team he plays for.

There are loopholes though. I remember reading an article about players that have been signed by clubs when they don't appear to have met the criteria. This being Everton though, I'm sure we would be cut no such slack.

The principle should be the DoF recruits the players for a set style of play, brining the best talent for the manager to work with, coach and select.

The reality with us is that we have an impotent/incompetent board, a DoF third in line with no strategy regardless of the fake strategic review that nobody has seen any form of details of, leaving an inexperienced young manager to try and get a tune out of substandard players.

As Myers said, Frank is a problem but the problem starts right at the top

But we will go down without additions. This is the problem of being badly run. Proper clubs would have a style of play mostly approved by the DoF and then bring in managers to fit that mould. The only issues that may then crop up would be ones of personality/performance, not style of play.

However, this being Everton. We'll appoint Brexity Dyche and then he'll have a cob on with the foreign lads and always play the likes of Coleman etc. regardless of form, because he's 'a good lad'. He'll like the 'banter' that Ashley Barnes will bring to the dressing room. Don't want any of that foreign quality from potential signings like a Moffi.

Even if someone like Dyche keeps us up this year, it's a disaster wating to happen. Let the DoF pick players and manager. It's on his head then if none of it works out.

Sign Ziyech on loan. We are crying out for creativity.
silly comment. You don't think he could play for one of the top teams in europe, such as where he plays now? You think he is just a championship manager bunch of 1's and 0's and not a real player that would fancy playing for one of the most toxic clubs in Europe currently that are in a very real relegation struggle?
