They would be fine as an ultra defensive back line just holding their place and keeping things tight but it would need a VERY good front 4 in terms of attackers and a couple of decent holders in the midfield.

I dont understand the dislike for AWB. Similar to Mykolenko he's very strong defensively which, for a defender...is crucial.

I really rate Patterson and think he could be something special...but if AWB had joined a year ago with Mykolenko I imagine our defence would be very solid.

We'd have also had a better chance of luring Moyes back if we could have offered him two Hibberts to pick from.
