Stiff learning curve for him, these arent a potent attack but hes struggled a bit today.

I presume you meant potent as in stature not in front of goal.

Him and Kean about the only positives from today’s game. Lots of work to be done for him , needs somebody to go through today’s video with him , work on his positioning , get him looking at other team videos how good defenders defend etc. But a sound performance again from him , and showing he has decent pace when he needs it.

....defending will improve but most encouraged by how comfortable he looks when in a one-on-one situation with an attacker. He wasn’t exposed and dealt with those situations in a very composed manner yesterday.

Yep that bit will improve, so far I’ve been impressed by the way he uses his strength to keep forwards off when defending and also when he’s been trying to play the ball out and he’s been harried . Even when off balance he’s had the strength to prevent a forward knocking him off the ball.

Branthwaite & Gordon are 2 bright spots on a fairly depressing season.

I think they can both be starters next season & potentially have real quality.

From what bit we saw of Branthwaite, I’d play him ahead of Keane already.
