Other than at CB we definitely can't be accused of that. Unless you count the "centre mids" out on loan in Dele, Gomes, and Gbamin, but let's be honest they don't really come into anyone's thoughts and I like to pretend they don't exist.

Gomes seems to be doing alright in France.
Gbamin doesn't want to play for us.
Dele needs his contract cancelled.

So yeah, none of them will kick a ball for us

Should be 18 players with 5 u21s to make up 23 players.

About 18 seniors but with -

DCL, Myko, Patterson injury prone (so down to 15)

Keane, Holgate, Godfrey unreliable (so down to 12)

Last season we had 2 goal keepers on the bench and at least 3 academy players. All of which got 0 game time...apart from Simms.

We basically at a push have a core 12-13 man squad that will play every week and even then it's not good enough.

IF we had a solid injury free 15 man squad...we still wouldn't be bloated but then the academy could fill in. But we don't.

Im not disputing the qualities of effectiveness of these players...only the numbers of which there are 24.

When seven are sick notes and three are goalies- might be an issue

I think he will be the starting CB with tarkowski hopefully they can produce a great partnership a solid experienced pro and a lad with bags of potential. Also if Patterson can kick on and we find a good left back. The back 4 could be looking good.
