Been in contact with Dyche since Dyche first took over, apparently. Is this news to anyone? Anyway, if true, it would indicate Dyche rates him somewhat.
It isn’t going out on a limb to rate a 6’ 5” rapid, goal scoring centreback.
He will get his chance for sure.

Oh, I know! Just found it interesting that Dyche has been in contact since he first took over, mostly.
If there’s one thing Dyche LOVES, it’s a heaving grock of a CB.
He was probably sitting there stroking his goatee and fingering his belly button whilst on the phone to Jarrad.

Let's try to put some perspective into this. The majority of the Dutch league is poor. Below championship standard, so it's hard to know exactly how well he performed last season.
PSV apparently didn't take up an option to bid for Branthwaite for around 6 million but I'm not sure how true that is. Some PSV fans also didn't particularly rate him. My hunch says that perhaps he's not cut out to be first choice for a Premier league team based on the evidence.
So there's two options, If Dyche feels he could reach a better level then maybe loan him out in the Championship for a season or two so he can learn and improve, or secondly to sell now while he can command some kind of reasonable fee.

Isn't it Dyche's job to try and improve players up to standard? He's clearly got every tool required to play for a team as crap as Everton in the PL.

Well yeah but you can only improve a player as far as his ability allows you to. Does Branthwaite have the speed to cope with the premier league. Or the tactical nous, or the experience of situations? A lot of questions to to be answered
And as crap as Everton are. They weren't particularly crap defending, it's the lack of goals that was the issue
Well to answer the first question, yes definitely has the speed, the players named him the quickest in the squad a bit back IIRC. Tactical nous and experience comes from good coaching and getting minutes, all within Dyche's power.

PSV are miles better than the championship, as are Ajax Feyenoord etc. They are better than us.
He did well there. They had an option of around 15m, but their model is not paying those fees for players.
He did well in Europe too, and is clearly highly rated. It would make no sense to loan him to a championship team. Hes well beyond that level, and frankly we need the players.
If someone comes in with a bid over 20m we can consider it, but if not, we should be giving him his chance, as one of the brightest young CBs out there.
