Did alright tonight. Not sure he's ready for a PL first team place, if that's what he wants. Some of his positioning was a bit off against a very poor German side. But some nice passes into midfield (he started the move for the first goal).

It's his first U21 cap though, so the nerves might have played a part?

What's the alternative, back to Keane? We can't afford to buy defenders and attackers. So this lad will no doubt fight it out against Godfrey for the 2nd spot.

Godfrey isn’t fighting for 2nd centre back, behave. No chance Dyche plays a player who can’t head the ball at centre back. He’s a backup fullback in the squad these days.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Branthwaite. He’s got the physical profile to be a Dyche favourite but will Dyche play a young centre back who will be learning on the job. If he’s going to be on the bench then would be good to loan him again if we can get him to sign a new contract. Above all else we cannot let someone like him get down to 12 months left on the contract - all the power in the players court then.

He has to be given the shot to start. There is too much potential there and he showed up on loan and impressed. If he gets injured again, so be it. That may be the final nail in the coffin for Mr Branthwaite. But he needs to be given the opportunity as we don’t have a surefire starter next to Tarks.
