I was afraid we’d bin him off but having let Mina and Coady leave with no replacements has made me more hopeful. He’s at least 3rd choice already and definitely in contention to start. We can’t be selling for that reason alone, and shouldn’t be anyway.

..I think it’s a positive sign that Dyche just wants good players and he sees this lad as a starter. He might not start the first game but I think Dyche wants him in the team.

Bit less urgency with his situation. If he is sold its hopefully for big money. I'd like to see him partner Tarkowski this season. Yes he"s raw and he will make the odd mistake but Keane makes them regularly anyway and doesnt learn. This lad has the tools to be excellent.
Exactly this. He made a mistake v Brentford and was shipped out on loan for a year to learn. He deserves his chance.
Keane has made mistake after mistake costing us goodness knows how many points and he keeps getting back in the team.

….the only doubt I have is i’m not convinced he sees his future at Everton. He’ll be well aware of interest from top clubs around Europe, I’d be a lot happier if he was on a longer deal but I’m not certain he’d sign a new contract for us.
Im fine with that if he is wise and gets 2 seasons of regular football with us and then we make a profit to reinvest. Sensible model to follow

Could be the starter with Tarkowski next season. If that’s the case and he does well he will move for a massive fee this time next year.

All hypothetical but if it does come to pass I think it’s exactly the model we should be trying to adopt and hopefully, as we’re linked with younger up and coming players, this is something we can start to do.

But then again, it’s Everton so…. I’m prepared to be disappointed

From his interviews it seems that he just wants to start games and make a name for himself at the club.

I thought he had 2 years left but someone linked that weve got a 1 year option so not as bad as expected.

If he gets into the team and establishes himself we need to get him locked down.
