Dyche prefers old players who have "experience" !
God help Branthwaite if he ever has a poor game for us. He is being built up here as the second Maldini.

He spent all last season in Holland, was away all summer with the England under 21's and only got back for the last couple of weeks of pre season.

Throwing him straight into the team was not going to do him any favours. I have no doubt he will play lots of games for us this season but we have to temper our expectations .
I could see him start next weekend after the debacle yesterday but maybe in a back five.

Kevin will be talking to him about pathways and 120 point plans in one ear, Bill will be muttering about the boys pen and Dave Hickson in the other, meanwhile he’s having to watch calamity Keane start ahead of him every week. Then they’ll all be scratching their heads when he says he doesn’t want to sign a contract.

This kid must be watching Keane wondering what he did in his past life because let's be honest you'd be better playing a Sunday league defender then playing Keane at this point

The thing is, if he had just been given the start against Fulham and we persisted with him. Because of his age and experience you will be able to forgive him mistakes as he learns.

But now, because of the manager picking his son again despite us knowing how catastrophically awful he is, if he puts Branthwaite in for Keane there's massive pressure on the lad to hit the ground running due to the last 2 games.

So not only has Dyche, screwed us. He's screwed that lads development. There's not a chance I'd sign that deal if I was Branthwaite.
