2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

TBF to Dyche (not something many will type this season) in 22/23 everyone was imploring him to get Calvert Lewin back out there but he took his time even when the team were desperately struggling and then he returned for the final 10 or so games and played a part in keeping the team up. Then limped off at Wolves in the 37th game and had a disrupted pre season.

In last 12 months I think he's missed the odd game so with sensible management his injury issues appear a thing of the past so need to trust him when he thinks Branthwaite is ready or not.

It's been a poor start but far too early still to be putting in key players when they're not close to 100% fitness.
You are right with what you're saying, but it's a bloody hard task agreeing when Dyche is taking praise from it.

I do think the DCL issues were a different case though which kept him out for so long.

I just hope he doesn't play the same card with Branthwaite and hold off with him for too long..

Realistically they’re not going to rush next years transfer budget back are they?
I think 90 minutes in an U21 match says otherwise, personally.

There's no reason to run him that long in his first game back unless you want to make sure he could hack the majority of a PL match the following week.

Dyche is desperate for him to be the answer to all of our problems as soon as possible.

He'll start one of the next two, probably Saturday tbh if he was on for 90 minutes in the under 21s.

I may be totally wrong with this, but this sort of thing happens with a lot of our injuries. Always feel they take a while to come back, and innocuous knocks etc take months.

Don't understand how you would have 2 weeks of full training and 90 mins in a U21 game and not be match fit, but there we are.
