We have enough high variance plays at CB. If we must reinforce the position, it needs to be with a proven quantity with the intent to chase points at the expense of the development of the question marks we have at the position.

Given our problems elsewhere and capacity constraints, this signing makes no sense as he's no bargain.

Or bringing a young player in now with the intention of perhaps him being able to compete or hold down a first team place next season. This then allows us to sell a player currently ahead of him and release more funds for team building.
As fans we tend to concentrate on the season immediately before us.

Fair enough, I’ve watched them both. Don’t think Todibo will be as good as Zouma.

Plus, this season Zouma played 28 league matches for the club who finished 4th, 6 Champions League matches for a club that reached the knockout stage and 5 FA cup matches for a club who reached the final. Hard to say he is not top six quality.

Yes, Chelsea would sell him, but that is because they aspire to be better than the Kopites and Man City and to do so right now, not because they don’t think he is top six quality. Credit to them, I don’t like them, but they are on the path to building a serious squad.

Mind, I’m not saying he would be my first signing because we have other positions of more need, but I would rather have him than Todibo who, in my opinion, is not good enough and would not fair well in our league.
