I was out there working so I had tools with me. This represents a fantastic training opportunity for the staff there. It took me two and a half hours to get through the initial security to the check in desk.

I was there about 8 months before the "Richard Reid - shoe bomber incident" and Israeli Intelligence obviously had picked up on something as they took a great interest in my shoes, they put them through 2 scanners, and were actively tring to pull the heel off them.

Hahaha bless 'em.

I've got a satellite phone handset in my toolbag which got taken away to their wee lab and stripped to it's component parts.

To be honest, I was more annoyed that they'd taken away the McDonalds.

haha - they're ace, they had my laptop in bits at one point. The Company I was meeting in Tel Aviv, warned me about them, and even gave me a letter to explain why I was in Israel, and who I had been visiting...They took one brief look at the letter, handed it back to me and started dismantling my luggage, and clothes...I feared the rubber gloves were gonna put in an appearance at one point
