2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

Another loan might make sense - he's makes some really nice passes.
Yeah, there's definitely a bit of potential there but I do fear that he might still be a bit lightweight for football at this level but that might be something he learns to work around with a bit more experience in the league.

Another loan would be helpful for him to settle and us not to fix wages when we only have so much to go around.

Alcaraz couldn't play the role that Lindstrom does imo, looks like more of a "pulls the strings" type of player who needs to be in the middle, rather than one who puts a selfless shift in bombing up and down the flank and tracking back.
Absolutely agree with the first part of the sentence, but also think that he really could have done the selfless shift too.

I think Young would have been the right choice to come on for Lindstrom if there had been 10 minutes to go, but with the best part of 45 minutes still to go including time added on Alcaraz should have been the one.

With Harrison and Beto tiring after having done well, Alcaraz would’ve given us a bit more of an attacking out ball than Young. Maybe Moyesy thinks that he’s not been with us long enough to have taken in all the defensive responsibilities yet tho.

lots of flak in here but he was instrumental to all our best play in the first half

if he was not ill, and stays on the pitch, we get a third and kill the game

Reading on here yest dont spend money on him. Buy young talented players for peanuts. Basically what every club in the world wants then. Talent for nothing. Pass your list onto the recruiment team when you get the chance.
He's 24. He's got ability. Can pass a ball. And grafts.
Id like to see a bit more of him tbh. 12 games in a new league i dont think he's been to bad. Unless he's a disaster between now and the end of the season i'd have no issues having him in the squad next season.

Its not but he needs to show he is worth the fee as at the moment imo I would say he is more a £12-15m player.

Struggling to think who you could buy to £12-15m who would be any good, then thought wasn't N'diaye around about that price ? Know I've said this before but it this lad can get a goal it might just set him off. When we had that break away and Tbh Doucoure played well yesterday, but his passing, still wonder how he managed to over it that pass to Lindstrom.

Although he was not very good with the ball yesterday, he certainly stopped united down his side all the time he was on the pitch, I think they got past him once in the 1st half, still would not sign him as he needs to offer more going forward
He came off because it looks like he’s got the flu bug, strangely Moyes said he’d showed signs of this illness before the game and at half time Lindstrom said he felt tired, why did he start the second half in fact why did he start at all if he was feeling the illness then?

Great through ball for that second goal, and had a couple of great actions while tracking down like a rabbit. He's deployed at the right side, where we see 50% of his abilities, which for now is okay. But if we want to see the real deal, he needs to play centrally, and perhaps he's battling with Alcaraz for that spot next season, when Doucs contract expires and hopefully not will be renewed.

Regarding Harrison, i think its time for him to move on next season and find a new challenge. There is definately something about him, and he's been 'the best' we can get for what our financial situation allowes. In summer, I hope we will a pacy, tricky winger that are able to dribble and go past defenders in 1:1-situations. I have said it before, Kamaldeen Sulemana from Soton, would be an exciting addition and give us that piece os magic our offensive line desperately needs without costing a fortune.

He's doing a job for the team, but I think we will have better options to buy this summer. Could make an argument to being signed as a squad player but not in the first eleven

Its not about who we can buy for £12-15m its about him not being worth £20m which imo he isn't. Take yesterday, he makes a great pass to start the move for the second goal then his following touches after that were to give the ball away a number of times. We are being linked with Henrique at Marseille atm and is better suited to the position, no idea on cost, we have also been linked to that Sanchez at Sevilla again better suited to the role. I just don't see Lindstrom being kept on.

If we can get better players fair enough, our problem has been attracting the better players. Their are a lot of bigger Sharks in the pool.

Lindstrom was acquired under a Dyche setup whilst fighting to stay in the league playing ale house football, we now have a new guy who is actually playing to players strengths and trying (and succeeding) to move us up the league towards a more mid table position and under new owners. We should be able to shop in a slightly different market to what we have been doing the last few years.

Not our job as fans to be finding these players because realistically we have no ideas who can or cannot be available.

If the scouts can’t find better than Lindstrom for 20mil they need to be given their notice period
