I remember when Pienaar signed for us after a really poor season at Dortmund and he took a couple of months to bed in. That won't happen with Lindstrom. Dyche won't give him the opportunity and most depressingly there's no support in the starting XI to build his confidence. Backs to the wall relegation dogfight stuff is never going to bring out the best in any player struggling for confidence.

I thought Dyche put him on against Villa ?

Dyche doesn't play with out and out wingers tactically, same as Jose Mourinho.

They play as inside forwards that cut in once they reach the edge of the penalty box.

They are expected to cover the area in front of the fullbacks strung out in a low block as the default formation.

Thelwell has provided the squad with players that are all similar, McNeil, Harrison, Ndiaye & Lindstrom.

I guess the idea is that they aren't as rigid in
position and can interchange more creatively and effectively than the battering ram that is Doucoure.

It will take time to adapt to this.

With O'Brien being phased in and Branthwaite back hopefully we will be solid again in blocking the space behind them.

Don Carlo played with four centre backs to good effect, it might come down to this again before January ?

He needs time to get acclimated , only way thats going to happen is more opportunities on the pitch , i think fans need to extend players like him some space to adapt.

Not really convinced so far. Of course may need time. But sometimes you get a feel early as to the ability of a player and he looks a bit off the level he needs to be to succeed here.
