2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

How many Everton players is it in hospital beds this season? Bit ridiculous really. We won’t do anything in the foreseeable future if we can’t keep players fit. That’s Branthwaite, Patterson, Coleman, Garner, Iroegbunam, Mangala, McNeil, Ndiaye, Lindstrom, Calvert Lewin, Broja, Chermiti all with significant long term injuries picked up in just this season (and it’s not even over yet)

It’s actually probably easier to list the players who have managed to stay mostly available all season.

A state of affairs that cannot continue if we want to push on.

That is a horrific statistic, no wonder we constantly struggle.

Its not even THAT bad.

lucky.webp

Much more interesting to see "number of games missed through injury".

On this list Mangala counts as 1. But on the other list he would probably count for more than most teams.
There isnt a load of data out there, but I think we always feel as tho we suffer more injuries, but I wouldnt be shocked to see we are pretty average.

All teams get injuries, we just notice ours more.

Seems a lot more than that matey, also it's the length of the injuries, I mean Liverpool have had 14, maybe bias, but which of their players have been out more than a month. P.s wouldn't surprise me at all if liverpool's weren't their fabled" international " injuries.
Yes, but we have a very small squad of players....
I just think we only see the Everton side of it, I would love to see proper data and see if we really are "cursed".

We feel it because we don't care about other clubs generally. I think every club feels the same way as we do with injuries and poor refereeing etc.

Of course, I get that.

But take Spurs for example this season, do we know how many they have missing each week? All season? No, cos we dont give a crap, unless they are playing us.

You only need one keeper on the bench - plus the other guy is older than Ashley Young - surely a youngster should be on the bench ?
We can name 9 subs, I personally have no issue with 2 Keepers on the bench, it leaves you 7 outfield players for Gods sake.

Would rather than youngster got games for U21 than kissing pine for 90minutes

Surly an up & coming youngster has to start on the bench instead of Dads Army ? just for experience etc ?

Spurs have suffered badly with injuries this season and with long term injuries and there is the rub," long term injuries", so have Everton.
