Got to be taking the piss with any links to Lingard, surely? Hasn't anybody seen how badly we've already been burned by Lingard MK2 Dele Alli? We really want to be wasting about £200k a week on these two players whose best days are long behind them? Joke of a club if there is any genuine interest in him.

Can't remember the last time that Alli even looked interested in playing football. Lingard was really good at West Ham and will know that if he does well there's still an outside chance of making the England squad as Southgate tends to stick with his trusted players.

James Bolasie Delph Tosun Walcott Bernard Digne Richarlison all likely to have been high earners who left in the last 12 months. We have started to move in the right direction. Giving Lingard £100k+ a week would be a step back in the wrong direction.

We still have a few more high earners to go as well. Mina and Gomes are the obvious two.

We are still going to need to pay decent wages to get replacements in, but the situation is a lot better now and we can't waste this opportunity.

Walcott’s biggest asset was his pace so signing an aging Walcott made no sense

Lingard is a creative midfield who scores and assists, a lot of these peak at around this age so it’s different really
