Lampard was bad, but there’s no way Marsch is anything more than marginally better at very best.

He’s universally seen as a joke by pretty much everyone with a faint idea of football.

Because he's American. You can try to pretend it's more complex but he's only a joke and not a so-so manager because of where he's from.

It’s probably the fact they’re only ahead of us on goal difference and we’ve been badly bumgas under Lampard all season tbh.

I’m not even talking about his personality/nationality. I’m basing this purely on his managerial ability.

That's different than a "joke." And I disagree because his style has a chance of working. To be level with us is really just a reflection of Lampard being entirely more fortunate with the finishing level of opponents.

Ok, maybe a calling him a joke was harsh. But he’s a bad PL manager around the same level as Gerrard, Lampard and Scott Parker.

You think he’s better than these because of his nationality.

No I think he's only better than Lampard, and so are the others, because Lampard is as bad a manager as I've ever seen.
