Why on earth is his kicking getting praised? It was god awful in the first half, could barely get is past the half way line!

Firstly, he was kicking against a strong wind in the first half. More importantly, its not just about how far he kicks it, its about it going where he wants it to. He was able a few times to pick out players and get the ball to them in different positions on the pitch, including out wide. Not consistently, but at least he was trying it with some success. He's got different faults to Howard, but he's barely played with the players in front of him and rarely had the same back 4. He's also come into a team in really bad form. He needs a decent run in the side before judging him.

Cannot see why the second choice keeper of Stoke will be the solution. Butland.

he's second choice because they failed to sell Begovic when they thought he was going to be sold a couple of seasons back. His quality is undoubted though.

goalkeeping kicking from free/goal kicks are a bit of a lottery tbh. everyone's marked up and need some momentum to run onto and head the ball and in that time everyone else is moving. it's quick free kicks and distribution from back passes/pressure is what it should be judged on.

howard seems to sh*t himself whenever there's a striker within 10 yards and he continually lofts them out of the pitch, all of robles were central yesteray and in no danger of flying out of play, which is good enough for me, you can't rate a goalkeeper's kicking too much on how many times the striker gets a flick on.

Wobblers was a bit better today. The defence largely kept City away from the goalmouth so that helped - whilst they created chances (or Jags gave them a couple) at least he did what he had to do.

To his credit he looked better yesterday than as of late. I was not full of dread every time he had the ball yesterday, which is a big improvement.

However, I am still far from happy with him in goal. A more stable defence certainly helped him yesterday, but in the long term he worries me.

The time he idly wasted taking free kicks in the first half just perplexes me.

Looking better with every game. I wouldn't drop him for Howard when he comes back from injury, Robles deserves a good run in the team.

Doesn't command the box for a big keeper. He should have taken his opportunity and come in shouting and roaring. Don't think he'll be here next season. Still could supreme us with a run of games. Deserves a chance anyway
