Hello there.

Always feel safer with Joel in goal, great throw out to play and commands the box on set pieces.

Howard is 11 years older, time to get the young blood in.

His throws are mental. Fairly sure he can throw it further than Howard can kick it.

Even when Howard plays well, he's pretty much just a shot stopper. It's like comparing a chicken breast to a roast dinner; Joel has all the trimmings.

yeah i really dont remember this aspect of his game a couple of years ago?

Like I said all along, give this lad a run and buy a backup keeper not spunk £££ on a keeper with no experience of English football. This lad has done nothing wrong in his recent matches. Granted he has had a couple of dodgy moments in games but must be very hard for a keeper to come in and know that you only have a game or two to make an impression.

Calms everyone whereas Howard sends everyone into a blind panic, we'd be near if not top 4 by now if the change had come early in the season

From Martinez:

"We showed a mature way of playing. Back-to-back clean sheets now and the team has the intent to please our fans and show what we can do."

Having made the change, I think that is time on Howard being the first choice.

Just imagine the fume if Howard comes back in now. It was bad last year but bloody hell. There's no way any keeper could thrive in that environment.

In a way it's been set up well for Joel. The fans are right behind him simply because he's not Howard. The bar's been set so low but to be fair to him, he's picked the bar up and rammed it up Howard's arse.

Was saying to Dav-EKay I think, easiest way to improve the atmosphere on a league day was to put Joel in. Apparently his name was cheered loudest when announced pre-match.

Plus you've got Lennon who does that one thing that all supporters love - runs about a lot. Combine that with Goodison under lights and it is the perfect way to get your fans back onside, if only for that one crucial match.

....And then when you get a chipped penalty...

He played very well again tonight. There is a really calming presence about him in goal that you don't get from Howard. He reminds me of Nigel Martyn in that respect.

He's a good build for a goalkeeper and also looks a bit more decisive of set plays. I really like him and hope to goodness he stays in the team.
