GK Joel Robles, 7 -- Bizarre non-dive for the first Jamie Vardy penalty, but a number of saves gave the scoreline a degree of respectability his teammates did not deserve.

I dont get this, I really dont. He did not dive either way for the second pen either, but then he caught it. So was it bizarre then? I tought Vardy was going to put it down the middle at his first pen also, and that is probably what Robles tought too.. stupid human that journo, and many others who have said the same thing.

The second penalty was way over the bar.

might have been, but it was at the middle, so had it been lower robles had caught it.
But it's irrelevant. Any criticism of Robles for not diving on the first penalty has absolutely nothing to do with Vardy blazing the second one into the stands. I don't know why you're trying to link them.

I like the way we're all pretending Joel actually saved the second penalty.

Can we have soviet style revisionist history for the rest of the season too? Remember when we won 8-0 at anfield, lads?

why should he get more criticism for guessing it goes down the middle instead of one of the sides?

At the end of the day the pen was missed, if it was mind games or luck with Joel and Vardy that's all that matters - Robles stopped it form being 5 or 6 anyway it was the teams lack of effort and inevitable that concerned most blues anyway!

I think he's pretty decent on one on ones - he won two yesterday and two at Anfield. And I don't [Poor language removed] myself if someone one winds up to shoot from 25yds + like with Mr Howard.

He's been fantastic at one on ones, but he's had to face far too many. Some recent scorelines might have been humiliating rather than just poor if not for this.

Also good point about long range efforts. Maybe it's his height but he's pulled off some good saves from long-distance shots, and that was always a big weakness of Howard.
