He was that good mate better than John Stones cost us nothing born in Blackpool an academy player - wore no 10 , but played a duel CH role with Captain Labone - he broke into midfield often & often scored so fast & brilliant in the air - an ex CF plus our first no 12 as a substitute scored in that game, but the referee disallowed it by blowing the final whistle to stop us winning 2-1 at Stoke away ....i’m 42 so know idea of him RIP
First game of the season. I was in the Clock end. He also scored in the next game away at Man Utd in mid week - 2-0 win. Managed to get to every game that season and we won the League! I was also at the Youth Cup Final game at Goodison against Arsenal in '65. RIP Hursty. X…started as a striker in that FA Youth Cup winning team and scored some valuable goals in the 1970 title winning team. I think he scored at Arsenal in a 1-0 win.
FGS - show some respect....Was excellent in The Elephant Man. RIP.
Are you an Evertonian mate? Because "if you know our history, it's enough to make your heart go etc"i’m 42 so know idea of him RIP
As an aside,I'm sure that was the first game Mr Shankley attended after retiring, the Gwladys Street started singing a popular chart hit of the day," hey rock and roll,Shankleys on the dole"He played in the first game I ever saw live. Everton v Derby, 17 August 1974.
